Data jobs in focus: Which role suits you?
‘Data is not a dwindling resource. People are flooding the internet with it because they shop online and instagram. Because they drive cars that record their driving behaviour. So there is no shortage of information - but there is a shortage of people who can draw the right conclusions from it: Data scientists.’
We recently read these lines in this ZEIT Online article about us and one thing is clear to us,
The world of data offers exciting opportunities. But which job suits you best? Let's take a look at the different roles:
Data Analyst: The data detective
Do you love sifting through data and drawing insights from it? As a data analyst, you've come to the right place! You collect, cleanse and analyse data to gain valuable information for your company.
Our Data Analyst Bootcamp will teach you the skills you need to turn data into actionable insights. You will learn Python and A/B testing to deepen your analyses.
Data Engineer: the data architect
The Data Engineer is the backbone of any data infrastructure. You build and manage the data architecture, ensure data quality and develop ETL processes. Without a solid database, neither data analysts nor data scientists can work effectively.
Data scientist: the data magician
As a data scientist, you develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms to derive valuable predictions from data. You work closely with data engineers to build on a solid database.
Our Data Science & AI Bootcamp teaches you the basics of data science, but without the focus on design experiments and A/B testing.
Sidenote: To realize the full potential of data science, you need a mature data infrastructure, which is often lacking.
We offer this course either fully remotely (with live online sessions) or at our Hamburg campus with face-to-face teaching.
Machine Learning Engineer: The model builder
The Machine Learning Engineer translates data science models into production-ready applications. You develop, test and deploy machine learning models in a production environment.
Our Machine Learning Engineering Bootcamp focusses precisely on this and prepares you optimally for this exciting role.
Sidenote: A strong database is a prerequisite for successful machine learning projects.
Analytics Engineer: the data bridge builder
The Analytics Engineer connects the world of data with that of business applications. You develop the infrastructure to make data accessible for analyses and machine learning.
Conclusion:
Each of these data jobs is important and offers exciting career prospects. The choice depends on your interests and strengths. If you like playing with data and gaining insights, a data analyst or data scientist might be your thing. If you are interested in technical implementation, Data Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer might suit you.
